Our mission is to inspire and build better lives and communities through leadership development. During the past half-century, Truist Leadership Institute has developed and refined approaches to business leadership through collaborative work with clients.

To deliver our mission, we've partnered with colleges and universities to nurture the next generation of leaders. The Truist Emerging Leaders Certification develops leaders at the collegiate level.

To meet the ever-evolving needs of our college and university partners, we are excited to release the External Facilitator program. Partners who complete this program can facilitate the Emerging Leaders Certification program on their campus. This program exponentially expands the number of students we are able to reach. We provide training, materials, and support throughout the school year to ensure that our External Facilitators have what they need to make the program a success.

Emerging Leaders Certification

Program Overview

The Truist Emerging Leaders Certification focuses on the self-awareness necessary to lead others more effectively. After completing the program, participants will be equipped with practical tools and strategies for overcoming leadership shortcomings discovered during the sessions. The Truist Leadership Model serves as the foundation of this highly interactive certification program.

Participants learn that their beliefs drive their behaviors and ultimately impact their results. They also identify their Leadership Purpose, a working statement defining their leadership goals and objectives. Following the certification, participants receive a summary document that details their leadership strengths, communication preferences, and blind spots.

Program Outcomes

Understand the relationships among beliefs, motivations, behaviors, and results.
Articulate their leadership communication preference when they are, and are not, in stressful situations.
Distinguish and apply appropriate leadership communication strategies for different situations.
Practice communication skills in a way that enhances relationships.
Develop a Leadership Purpose that reflects their leadership goals and will influence their journey as a leader.
Create a personal action plan that will outline behavioral changes to make their leadership more effective.
Upon completion, participants receive an electronic certificate that may be shared on LinkedIn, and on resumes.
