As an experienced Learning and Development Professional, Sutton is passionate about developing the full potential of others. With over two decades of experience leading corporate learning and development, Sutton brings his passion for developing better leaders to Truist Leadership Institute. Throughout his career in corporate learning and development functions, he has led his teams to multiple national awards and accolades for quality of programming and impact.
Under Sutton’s leadership, Truist Leadership Institute has dramatically increased the size and scope of its catalog of programs and services, launched philanthropic programs for educators and students that have reached thousands, launched a research and measurement function within the institute and oversaw the design and construction of Truist Leadership Institute’s world-class learning facility, the Kelly S. King Center.
In addition to his corporate work, he is active in the community. He currently serves on the boards of the North Carolina Business Committee for Education, BEST NC, and Winston-Salem’s Project Impact initiative as well as the NC Chamber of Commerce’s Workforce Development Committee. His past involvement includes serving on the boards of the Public School Forum of NC, Forsyth Tech Foundation, and the NC Governor’s Economic Development Committee.
